I'm from Brazil, I love adventures and my favorite sport is surfing (also soccer as all of Brazilian guys). I have been surfing since I was 16 years old and I chose to come to Santa Barbara to improve my English and also, obviously, to go surfing as much as I can!
California is one of the best places to go surfing of the world. It's famous for its perfect and long waves. There are many options of waves style in many different spots that you can surf. The culture about surfing is super strong here. You can see people from all ages practicing the sport, including many women. For instance, a huge demonstration of how democratic the sport has become here, is that you can see a senior citizen, around 70 years old, sharing the same wave with a little 8-year old girl. Moreover, there is many places that you can buy or rent a surf board, also many stores selling brands related to surf.
The WSL (World Surf League) is an annual tour of professional surf competitions (male, female, juniors) around the most remote and exotic locations in the world. The Hurley Pro at Trestles, San Clemente, is a unique opportunity to watch the best of surfing in California and to be close to your surfing idols.
I met the guys from California Explorer who offered me many trips which I attended, and I saw the way how they promoted trips was quite interesting, so I talked with them to be part and and work together with marketing activities, things that I really like to do and It was a good way to improve my english and also my marketing knowledge and skills.
My friend Pedro, who loves surfing, had the great idea to have a surfing trip to one of the most important surfing events of the world with California Explorer and we started to work together and make the marketing activities for this trip, like create ads using Adobe Photoshop, upload the information on the website, post it in social media, etc."
