If you're a runner or looking to try it out, you've come to the right place for miles of paths, scenic views, and great weather. Whether you are looking for an uphill trail run or a flat beach-side jog, Santa Barbara offers a lot of variety for runners at every level.
Flat runs: The bike path along Cabrillo Blvd stretches all the way from Shoreline Park, above Leadbetter Beach, to the Bird Refuge in front of the Zoo. It's about 4 miles from one end to the other and passes the harbor, the wharf, and part of the giraffe exhibit along the way.
Outdoor track: Santa Barbara City College has an outdoor stadium and track on the corner of Cabrillo Blvd and Loma Alta. As long as SBCC teams aren't using it for practice, you can run laps or do some stadium stair workouts.
Trail running: There are a lot of great trails in Santa Barbara if you're looking for a hilly, scenic run. Check out SB Hikes for info on difficulty and length.
Running clubs and events: If you're looking to join a running group or sign up for some races while you're here, check out the SB Running page for links to events, training groups, and other ways to get involved in the local running community.
